8.0A moment's reprieve, milk tea includedKiwi is pretty close to the center of town, a short drive down Nguyen Trai from Hung Vuong. It has a pretty modest storefront and interior. A little cart is pushed out front for all the drink concoctions, and a kitchen lines the right wall of Kiwi. It's a fairly open space with a little over a dozen wooden/metal tables with red and yellow plastic stools around. I dipped in for the second time close to 6 p.m. and there were just two other high schoolers enjoying a snack. I took a seat in a back corner and made my order -- Thai green milk tea -- and started reading. To my pleasant surprise -- no loud music! No music at all, actually. I'm not sure if they turn it on later, but for the hour I was there -- just the crackle of oil overheard from the "kitchen". The milk tea was just right in sweetness, where I see more than a few milk tea shops oversweetening their drinks. The Thai tea came with exactly four pieces of jelly -- one pink, one green, one yellow and one chocolate brown. It was good and just 15K! Aesthetics aside, I really liked the place for being quiet, at least for the moment. A couple rolled in halfway during my hour and a group of younger students came in just as I left. So, if you're going here to read -- 6 p.m. is a good time! Hanging out with friends? Perhaps anytime before or after. Hopefully I can come back and try the food! ...Xem thêm
