8.2Pretty good but tad overpricedLook, you will always get pretty similar quality of food no matter which Din Tai Fung you visit (excep Singapore which I found disappointing) - however it is the pricing which tells whether it is value for money or nor. In this case at Din Tai Fung Central Embassy - it is a tad overpriced relative to Singapore (which has a higher living expense) and Malaysia. For example, a bottle of water is 35 baht + 10% service charge and 7% VAT - but in the supermarket it is only 8 baht a bottle - they are charging 5x the price - it is absolutely criminal! In any case, the food was quite nice and justify why I went to get dumplings instead of pad thai in Bangkok. Their pork soup dumpling was definitely steamed to order - don't know whether it is made to order but not far off! It was steaming hot and my word the aroma of the soup within the dumpling was devine! We also had the drunken chicken which was boneless and very very good. The seafood and pork dumplings with noodle in chicken broth was very good - i guess the broth could have been hotter but still it was very good as a dish. And finally, the oriental dumplings in black vinegar and chilli oil were super nice - the oil and vinegar mix gave it a rich tangy and mild spicy aroma. The service was also very good although they do look a bit short staffed. All in all, a very good dining experience however overshadowed by the crazy charge on water. ...Xem thêm
