5.4Overrated ><I don't know how this joint get such raving reviews, but been an expat having eaten at numerous clay pot eateries in HK, I felt it was a terrible let down. Sure, it is located adjacent Temple Street in Kowloon and easily accessible via the MTR or bus, but that is where it starts and ends. There is a good wait to be seated which I guess contribute to the hype. The lady at the front asks how many people, and if you know what you want, you can order at the same time! We ordered 2 clay pot rices - a Salted fish w chicken, the other spare ribs and chicken feet, also a dish of greens on the side. It is not the most comfortable of seating - the sad bit is I can get clay pot rice in a residential area, seated much more comfortably and will be nicely temperature controlled for the same price! I am more than happy to share tables if the food was good but this wasn't the case here. The clay pot rices lacked flavour, by that I mean the toppings itself. I can add as much soy sauce as I want but all it gives is a saltier taste and no additional flavour. The service was also quite disjointed - there were lots of waiters but they seem to be running like headless chooks. Moreover, the service was not there at all. When it is time to lift the lid of the clay pot (which is piping hot), you have to do it yourself - doesn't happen anywhere else and had the contents within were super delicious I can live with that, but sadly that was not the case! Overall, this joint is seriously overrated but I guess if you are staying at Kowloon this is a cheap eat so you might as well see what the hype is - but personally I will not be returning based on 1) lacklustre food, 2) inadequate service and 3) hygiene standards not the best. ...Xem thêm
